Muesli Flapjacks

We had a box of muesli that no one liked, rather than waste it I wanted a recipe to use it up - et voila - muesli flapjacks...delicious!



250g/8.8oz butter

200g/7oz sugar

200g/7oz golden syrup

200g/7oz muesli

200g/7oz oats


Preheat your oven to 180F/350C/Gas 4.


Grease and line an 8 1/2 x 10" baking tin (21x 25.5cm).


Put the muesli and oats into a large bowl.


Pop the butter, sugar and golden syrup into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring until the butter has melted.


Remove from the heat and pour of the muesli oat mix.


Mix until combined.


Spoon into the prepared baking tin and level out the top.


Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.


Cool in the tin for 10 minutes.


Mark into slices and run a knife around the edge of the tin but leave to cool completely before cutting and lifting from the tin.
