Review: Sussex Faerie Festival

A couple of weekends ago, myself and some of the Kitchen Witch posse headed to the wilds of Sussex for the Faerie Festival which runs for a whole weekend.

It is set in a beautiful location on a campsite in a valley surrounded by hills and greenery. Visitors to the festival can stay on site for the whole weekend or just attend for a day. I was impressed with the site facilities - proper toilets hurrah!

A large marquee hosted music throughout the day and for the entire weekend, from a whole host of talented musicians. Outside the marquee was an area set aside for children which was led by the most amazing team of entertainers who kept the kids happy and engaged all day. Beside that...a row of food stalls - freshly baked pizza, vegan food, gluten free food and the most amazing Indian food (we went back several times) and of course a beer tent!

Around the site were plenty of stalls with beautiful hand crafted items; lovely clothing, ceramics, incense, fairy wings and all kinds of things - I came home with a big bag of goodies!

And a separate tent for all the workshops which ran all day, every day over the whole weekend.

I think what stuck us most was the energy, it was so lovely. Such a happy and relaxing vibe throughout the whole day. We chilled, we sat back, we ate curry, we drank masala chai, we listened to the fabulous Pentacle Drummers, we ate more curry, we drank more masala chai, we shopped and we generally had a fantastic day.

Roll on next year...
