I promise these won't last long, at least they didn't in our house!
250g/8.8 oz butter, softened
55g/2 oz caster sugar
200g/7 oz sweetened condensed milk
375g/13.2 oz self raising flour
125g/4.4 oz chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
Mix the softened butter, condensed milk and caster sugar together with a whisk until it is pale and creamy.
Add in the flour and mix until it comes together to form a dough.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll into balls, place on the baking tray with space to spread, press down the top with a fork to flatten slightly.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Variations:
Use dark, milk or white chocolate chips
Use sultanas or chopped dried fruit instead of chocolate chips
Use half chocolate chips, half chopped stem ginger
Replace 50g/1.8 oz of the flour with cocoa powder to make double chocolate cookies
