(Thymus vulgaris, Thymus serpyllum) A low growing woody herb with small green leaves and tiny lilac coloured flowers throughout the summer this herb smells and tastes delicious. Wild thyme can be found growing in woods, fields, and commons and on heath lands. An excellent herb to use in any healing workings (and in culinary use for healing too). Burn in incense blends or carry with you for good health. Also use in incense blends to purify and cleanse your home and bring love and peace in. Thyme will increase your willpower and give you courage. Making (and drinking) thyme tea will help you release the past; you can also add the tea mix to your bath water. Sleep with thyme under your pillow to ensure a good night’s sleep and mix thyme with lavender to make a brilliant sleep pillow. Romans would wash their faces in thyme water to enhance their attractiveness and carry it with them to ward off venomous creatures.
