Magic, megaliths and the sunrise

On Friday, I was approached by the Assistant Comment Editor for the Telegraph newspaper and asked if I would write an article on Paganism and the summer solstice.
My first thought? That it was a scam, however, I checked all the credentials, and it looked good. After a bit of an email exchange - what they wanted, word count, when it was due (I had 3 hours in which to write it and submit it), etc. I sat down to write. I will be honest, I was a bit hesitant, writing for a grown-up newspaper was a little scary!
However, the job was done, and the send button was pressed.
To see my words in print on a national newspaper website is a weird experience. Although it wasn't long before the trolls began with their comments. I must assume those writing the disparaging comments were not pagan and true to the words in my article were full of misunderstandings. I have chosen to ignore all the comments, but it is such a shame that people jump straight onto things with little or no understanding of the subject, or even the small amount of effort it would take to Google for the facts. But there you go, all we can do is try to keep getting the message out there.
Whatever you are doing today or in the next few days to celebrate, I send you solstice blessings in abundance! Even to the trolls ...
