Book Prompts

Pick a book at random, turn to a page and pick a line.

Does that have meaning for you today?

Use it as a prompt. It does not need to be a spiritual or Witchcraft book; it can be fiction or even a magazine you have lying around.

To give you an example, I am going to do this right now, turning around first to my shelves of Witchcraft books. Without looking, I know I have three shelves, so I am going to go for the bottom of the three shelves and randomly pick the first number that jumps into my head, which is 17.

OK, so the 17th book from the left on the bottom shelf. Hang on…be right back.

Now that I have the book in my hand, I am going to flick the pages and let it fall open, which it has done to page 108. Sticking with the number 17, here is the 17th line of the book: ‘lighting an empowered white candle at the core of the house’. Perfect! That gives me a prompt for today: place a candle in the centre of my home and light it.

If I follow the same process with my shelves of fiction books…back in a moment… ‘there, sit down, sit down, said the Rat pleasantly, and go on with your porridge’. Not so easy to gain a spiritual prompt from, but I could look into the magic of working with the spirit of rat, or I could work with the magical energy of porridge. Or it may just be a nudge for me to sit for a while and meditate.

Try it and see what you come up with. If you have lots of books, then you have a huge number of prompts to work with.
