Witchcraft: Daily Practice - Day 1

2 min read

Whether you are new to the Craft and looking for structure and inspiration, or you have lost your connection and are seeking to find your way back to a regular spiritual routine, these prompts will provide help, support, ideas, and suggestions to build yourself a beautiful set of daily practices.

The idea of building a daily practice is perfect; it will guide you to learn about yourself and your magical practices. It will help you feel connected and build your skills so that you can not only connect more easily and quickly but also eventually stay connected. The reality is that life does not always allow us the luxury of working with a huge daily practice because it is a commitment. All of us have ‘other’ stuff going on in our regular lives, so it is a case of committing to what you can manage to begin with. Eventually, you can begin to work your magical skills and daily practice into all the mundane routines, too. My Craft must fit into my daily routine along with all the other mundane stuff. I am a Witch, whether I am creating an incense blend, working a spell, or doing the washing up.

Start with easy things; take small steps to begin your routine. You do not need to go full on and spend hours a day (although you could if you wanted). Start small and build, blending things into your daily routine, keeping what works and tweaking or discarding those that do not. Remember, you do not have to stick with an initial plan; it is not set in stone; you are allowed to change things as you go along. And…if you fall off the broomstick, do not worry; you can always climb back on when you are ready.

For those who are experienced and restarting, do consider going back to the basics for a refresher. You are never too experienced to start at the beginning again. You can learn a lot from looking at how you first worked with skills and how you began your journey.

Daily Checking In on Yourself

It is really important to check in on yourself on a regular, preferably daily basis. We often think about others and check in to make sure friends and family are doing OK, but what about ourselves?

Prompt:

•             Try taking just a few moments in the day to stop and look inwards.

•             Ask yourself: how are you feeling?

•             What is going on with you at the moment?

•             What can you do to help yourself?

•             What will make you happy or happier?

•             Do not forget to look after yourself and your own needs. This should be done for our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.

•             Ask yourself what you can do to connect or reconnect.

•             What small thing can you do today that will feed your magic?
