Your Senses

Perhaps most of us often wander blindly through life, just stumbling along, but as Witches and spiritual folk, we need to up our game. We need to use all our senses to make connections, to inspire the spark, to work the magic.

See – Your eyes see obviously, but do they really see? Look beyond the surface, look further, look inward and outwards, look past the layers. See with your visual eyes, but also further using your third eye, your psychic eye.

Hear – Listen carefully; what can you hear? What are the obvious sounds on the surface? Then go deeper and listen to the quieter sounds, the echoes, the faint noises that can barely be heard.

Touch – Use your sense of touch to feel energy. Not just the texture or temperature of something physically, which is important, but go beyond and feel the energy field of things too.

Smell – Give it a sniff! Scent can evoke emotions, memories, and set your other senses tingling. Smell a flower, sniff the air, smell essential oils, and incense.

Taste – Food for me is one of life’s utmost pleasures. Food can take you on a journey around the world, into childhood memories, and remind you of special events. The taste of something can make you happy or indulgent.

Whenever you are working magic or connecting with the energy around you, remember to use as many of your senses as you can; it will lift the experience from ordinary to extraordinary. These are all experiences we use regularly and are incredibly easy to work into a daily magical routine.
