Witchcraft: Daily Practice - Day 8
Music
Sound can evoke all kinds of emotions, feelings and memories, and it can be used to raise energy, add power to magic and help you focus on an intent. I use music in spell working, meditation, ritual and generally when I want to raise the vibrations. And, of course, it can be used to inspire witchiness!
Prompt:
• Create a Witchcraft playlist, add songs that mention witches or Witchcraft in the lyrics or soundtracks from Witchcraft films.
• Explore Pagan singers and bands; there are plenty of wonderful artists to choose from. Their songs cover sabbats, deities and all areas of the Craft and Paganism; these songs can be used for ritual or spell working.
• Work with songs and artists that you love; music in ritual or spell working does not need to be specifically Pagan. You might like to play a song that refers to money when you are working a prosperity spell, or a song that uses fire in the lyrics when you are calling in the elements. Use music that resonates with you; it will not work if you hate the song or the singer.
• Add music to your ritual and see how it changes the energy. Experiment, try using something soft and lyrical and then try heavy metal – they will both work, but will bring totally different energies.
• Add music to your spell working and see how it boosts the magic. Theme the song to the intent of your spell.
• Play a witchy or Pagan song to put you in the mood for working magic or ritual.
• Experiment with music for meditation; it does not need to be plinky plonky music; you can meditate to all kinds of music genres.
