Witchcraft: Daily Practice - Day 9

Films and TV

Most of us will have favourite films or TV shows that have a Witchcraft feel to them. They can be really good doorways back into your Craft or beginning steps.

Prompt:

•             Watch an old favourite film that makes you feel witchy (mine is Practical Magic, of course). Some films centred around Witchcraft can be cheesy, and others are just plain ridiculous, but if you pick the right one for you, it can inspire you to step into your own magic.

•             There are plenty of TV series that cover Witchcraft, magic and even vampires, which technically are not Witchcraft, of course, but you usually find that where there is a vampire in a series, there will be smatterings of the Craft in there too. They can be just as inspiring to your magic as a film.

•             You do not need to stick with fiction either; with a bit of rooting around, you can find documentaries on Witchcraft, magic, folklore and the history that surrounds it.

•             Not always visual, but podcasts can also be inspiring; there is a wide variety of audio and visual podcasts available now. A lot of them are led by witches (myself included, of course!), but some of the history and folklore podcasts can be just as inspiring to help you jump onto the virtual broomstick.

•             Do not forget the film soundtracks or TV theme tunes. These can be used to get your witchy vibe going. Play them on your sound system or add snippets of them as your ringtone or notification on your mobile phone. This can act as a magical prompt each time it goes off.
